Zion Elee, who played football as a Mariner in our own Joppatowne High School Stadium, is about to start his college career playing at the University of Maryland as the nation's No. 1 ranked recruit out of high school. Before he reported for his first day of classes at the University of Maryland, he came home to give back to his community.

Through the Elee Foundation, Zion donated school supplies and about 300 backpacks to Joppatowne High School students, making sure the community that raised him wasn't forgotten as we kicked off the 2026-2027 school year.

From Joppatowne to the University of Maryland, Zion has carried this community with him every step of the way. We couldn't be prouder to call him a Mariner. Good luck at Maryland, Zion! Joppatowne is cheering you on.
