PTECH Graduation

Harford County Public Schools is proud to celebrate the accomplishments of the second cohort of students in the Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) Program at Joppatowne High School. On May 22, 2025, nine students earned an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree from Harford Community College. Just days later, on May 28, they also received their high school diplomas from Joppatowne High School.

These students have achieved something extraordinary—earning a college degree while completing the requirements of high school. Nationally, fewer than three percent of high school graduates accomplish this milestone. Their success is the result of four years of rigorous academic work, which included 60 college credit hours, more than 26 high school credits, Advanced Placement courses, internships, and industry certifications.

Balancing the demands of high school and college coursework is no small feat. The Class of 2025 has demonstrated remarkable determination, resilience, and commitment. Their journey through the P-TECH Program has prepared them not only for future educational pursuits, but also for careers in high-demand fields such as Cybersecurity and Computer Information Systems.

HCPS congratulates the P-TECH Class of 2025 on their achievements and thanks the educators, mentors, families, and industry partners who supported these students along the way. We look forward to seeing the impact these graduates will make on their communities, the workforce, and beyond.
